Gossip Girl fashion
For the second part of College Fashion’s Gossip Girl Fashion series (and in honor of the season finale), here’s a guide to dressing like Blair Waldorf, everyone’s favorite GG bad girl.
Blair Waldorf, played by actress Leighton Meester, is Serena’s best friend on Gossip Girl, and the “Queen Bee” of the Constance Billiard School for Girls. With a fashion designer for a mother, it’s no surprise that Blair has amazing fashion sense and a true signature style.

Summer in the city
[This summer a dream internship with Lucky magazine moved me from Austin, Texas, where I’ve spent all 21 years of my life, to New York City for the summer. Come along for the ride and follow me through this column as I take on all that the city has in store for me. I’ll share tips I’ve picked up along the way about everything from how to pack (stop, drop and roll people!) to dating to fitting in (or standing out) and so much more.]
Summer is in full bloom here in New York City and it’s hotter than ever! Due to the heat, it’s tempting to just throw on a pair of jean shorts and t-shirt and run out the door. However, like most college students, we have summer jobs or internships that require us to spend a little more time on our outfits. Sophia’s outfit provides the perfect balance between staying cool and comfortable, and still looking chic at work! Keep reading to learn more about Sophia’s style.

Let’s Talk Fashion

Since Borders everywhere are going out of business, (boo!) I decided to stop by my local store a few weeks ago and pick up some deeply discounted books.
On a whim, I picked up Janie Bryant’s The Fashion File: Advice, Tips, and Inspiration from the Costume Designer of Mad Men. Since she designs and styles all of the amazing outfits found on Mad Men, I knew Bryant had the fashion cred, but let me just tell you: this book exceeded my expectations and then some.
I expected The Fashion File to be just a typical coffee table book — you know, pretty to look at, not a lot of substance. However, I was surprised to learn that this book was the complete opposite: it’s thorough, creative and totally inspirational.
With those last few weeks of summer break dwindling down, this is the perfect book to read if you’re looking to reinvent your style for the upcoming school year, or just want an inspiring fashion-related book to add to your collection.
